Paul Penciu is a Romanian-born, UK-based photographer working across fine art, fashion, and portraiture. Known for bold symbolism, theatrical lighting, and unapologetic intimacy, his work blurs the line between vulnerability and spectacle. Through self-portraiture and collaborations with performers, brands, and creatives, he explores queerness, identity, and transformation, creating images that feel cinematic, mythic, and emotionally raw.

His practice spans editorial and campaign-focused fashion imagery, performance and drag portraiture, and conceptual fine art projects rooted in self-exploration and visual research. Whether producing high-fashion editorials, promotional campaigns, or narrative fine art series, Paul’s vision remains constant: to craft photographs that function as both confession and provocation, leaving a lasting emotional imprint.

He has exhibited internationally, including at The Holy Art Gallery - London, Canvas International Art Fair - Venice, and the BCU x Grain Exhibition – The State of Photography Symposium - Birmingham. His work has been featured in publications such as ATTITUDE Magazine, SHUBA Magazine, BEAUTICA Magazine, SELIN Magazine, VIGOUR Magazine, MALVIE Magazine, MARIKA Magazine, THE STYLE RESEARCHER, and ARTELLS Magazine. In 2023 he was selected to be part of the Birmingham City University Inspired Festival.
